He was, He is, He is to come!

“The king's heart is in the hand of the LORD, as the rivers of water: he turneth it whithersoever he will.” ~ Proverbs 21:1

My dad preached on the sovereignty of God this morning. I love that word--Sovereign. God is sovereign…independent of outside authority, having supreme rank and power, paramount.

One God.

“There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling; one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.” Ephesians 4:4-6

“For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.” 1Timothy 2:5-6

The Only God.

“Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else.” Isaiah 45:22

“Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me, Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure.” Isaiah 46:9

Holy God.

“For I am the LORD your God: ye shall therefore sanctify yourselves, and ye shall be holy; for I am holy: neither shall ye defile yourselves…For I am the LORD that bringeth you up out of the land of Egypt, to be your God: ye shall therefore be holy, for I am holy.” Leviticus 11:44-45

God is still holy... God is still pure... His name is perfect... His Word is sure... Nothing shall ever stain His righteousness... Nothing shall ever mar His holiness... Our God is holy for ever and ever. He will endure!

He was. He is. He is to come!

God says:

Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown.” Revelation 3:11

“And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.” Revelation 22:12

“He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.” Revelation 22:20

I hope you enjoy this song!
