Russell's Visit ~ Day 1

As you probably already know, Russell came to visit me for 10 days. What a wonderful birthday gift!!! While we waited for Russell to come through the gate at the airport, some people from a TV show called "Hello & Goodbye" (I think) asked to interview us and video record our reunion. After the interviewer talked with us for a while I'm sure it's very possible that he regretted his choice. =D After briefly telling him our story, I think the man was appalled by what seemed to him like an arranged marriage, although he admitted that my face was radiant as I stood waiting for Russell to make his appearance. He dared to ask if I love him! Ha! I should have sent him the link to my blog; all of you my readers can vouch to the fact that you're sick of hearing me moan and groan about him. =D As if that wasn't enough of a shock, he also discovered that we are missionaries, we home school, don't believe in dating...and if that wasn't radical enough...we don't believe in hugging and kissing and all. After being asked a personal question, I also got to tell the man that we are waiting.............until we are married. The poor man! By the time Russell showed up he looked quite bewildered. I can tell you this: he'll probably never hear anything like that again in his life. =D And I can guarantee you this: that interview will never be aired. Oh well. =) Though it was a little nerve wracking, some of the questions were unexpected, and it was hard to know exactly how deeply to delve as far as answering them (once you start, where do you stop?), I'm still glad it happened.

After eating a big breakfast, Russell couldn't wait any longer to give me the gifts he brought--my late Christmas presents. I love them! The back of the bracelet has Russell's name engraved on it, and both our names are engraved on the necklace. I love my Precious Moments wedding figurine! Russell is so good at picking out gifts for me.

We ended the night with a game of checkers and Dad reading to us while I cross-stitched on my cherry tablecloth.
