Russell's Visit ~ Day 4

We spent the evening with the Kamps family, who are also missionaries. Since Mom's, Mrs. Kamps', and my birthday are just days apart from each other we celebrated them together.

Mom received an antique sewing box from the Kamps. We gave Mrs. Kamps a Cranberry Chutney Yankee Candle. Those candles are a rare treat!

The Kamps gave me kitchen supplies--RED--to match my red kitchen! It's funny--several years ago it was the rage to have a cherry kitchen. That's when I decided I wanted to have a cherry kitchen theme, since I think cherries are such a cute fruit. Well, now I'm going to have a kitchen of my own and it seems that there's not a cherry kitchen item to be found. Oh well...I'm still going to have plenty of RED in my kitchen. =) I love my gifts!!!

Here's Russell, Annika, and me relaxing on the couch after a delicious dinner.

Then we went ice skating downtown! Russell and I invented a little contraption out of rope so we could skate together without holding hands. Don't laugh! =D

Here's Russell, me and Annika playing train...
And the boys acting goofy, trying to stand on one skate...
And me with the (little) Kamps ladies!

We had a fun day!

I love red too! My mom lives in an apartment on our house. Last summer we painted the bottom half of one wall in her kitchen bright red! I love it. We added a little blue patterned paper atop it with white wainscoting and all the accessories in the kitchen are primary colors--red, yellow, blue. With white cupboards and an antique enamel red-top table and chairs, it's great!
