Checking out the map at Stone Mountain Park.
Lydia, the photographer.
I love these trees!
Old Glory + the rebel flag.
Admiring the memorial....(below)

Here is a very tired Russell...my poor Russell. Wedding preparations are exhausting! I'm glad they are one-time occurrences--at least, they are supposed to be!--because I couldn't do it twice!
Buying Russell's ring at the mall from Zales.

Checking out the building where our reception would take place.

I can't get over these moss-growing trees. They are the most haunting-looking things, and this isn't nearly as bad as it gets. There will be more on this subject in future posts.

Only in America!!!
I know it's bad, but I love sarcasm and this just strikes a cord with me because I love babies and can't imagine killing one for any reason.

And even in the busyness of wedding preparations things break and need fixing--like the air conditioning--a very important unit in hot Florida! Here is Russell working with Big Daddy--my mother-in-law's dad. I love Big Daddy and Grandma! I was too young to remember growing up with grandparents nearby before we moved to Holland. Now it seems God is blessing me at an older age when I can appreciate their wisdom and companionship to the fullest extent.

And here is our last Friday family night before the wedding. Russell had to work, so after dinner Dad took us out to Starbucks for dessert--coffee! Then we went to the mall and shopped some.
Dad was embarrassing Lydia by spooning his coffee into his mouth with his straw. Thankfully there was nobody even around to notice, so Lydia's embarrassment could be 1 on a 1-10 scale. =D
I love my sis! Little did I realize how much I would miss her...as I do now. =(

Riding with a carful of guys. Don't ask me how that happened! Oh, I know! Russell wanted me with him. =D
We thought this car was cute...or cool, whichever gender was making the exclamation. =D
Clay took the Maynard and Huussen clan out for dinner to Red Lobster. The food was heavenly and the fellowship was better.

Aunt Erica came from New York to make our wedding cake. This gave us an idea of what it was going to look like! Pretty!
My side of the family began arriving from NY, and I felt as though it should be illegal to be so happy as I was surrounded by my loved ones and about to experience the happiest day of my life.

Opa took us out to Carrabba's Italian Grill for dinner.
Papa just arrived and was too tired to go out, but he came down from his hotel room to say hello. He hugged me and said, "Here is the bride-to-be!" Those simple words sounded so nice!
Here's Opa, Papa, and Dad having some kind of discussion.
Though only a few family members were able to come down for the wedding, it was just so nice to see everyone again.
Mom and Aunt Erica...
And here are two more sisters!
