Psalm 116:17 “I will offer to thee the sacrifice of thanksgiving, and will call upon the name of the LORD.”
Psalm 27:6 “And now shall mine head be lifted up above mine enemies round about me: therefore will I offer in his tabernacle sacrifices of joy; I will sing, yea, I will sing praises unto the LORD.”
Sometimes it truly is a sacrifice to be thankful, and even more, to be joyful about it. I haven’t been feeling too well physically and emotionally, and it’s certainly very tempting to sit here and just complain. It’s been raining like mad all day. That doesn’t help any. Are these good reasons to be grumpy? No. I have every reason in the world to offer sacrifices of joyful thanksgiving to my Savior.
I have some wonderful news. I just realized today that I really should share it. Our church has a Friday night fellowship once a month. We usually have some singing, sword drills (ahum, which I might add the ladies always win :), food, and either watch a good movie, or play hockey.
Well, Mom and us girls were busy preparing food when Denny walked in. It was obvious that he was excited. He told us that he threw all his music out. That was the first thing he told us upon walking into church, and he talked about it until it was time to start. He listened to a preacher preach about the wickedness of “hip-hop,” which is really just another name for Rock ’n Roll. This preacher talked about the silent messages behind the music, the demon that has been called up and requested to go out with each recording, etc., etc. (Gives me goose bumps just thinking about it!)
We were all overjoyed with Denny’s announcement. At last, at last! Dad has preached on music numerous times, and we’ve watched a detailed music DVD series about all this stuff. It’s wonderful to know things are registering! It’s good to see spiritual growth in people’s lives after much toil. God is good! Lyd and I grabbed each other’s hands, bowed our heads, and thanked the Lord in the privacy of the storage room. We were so happy and both nigh to tears. What a wonderful way to begin the evening!
Also, I’m thankful that people have been coming out for the Wednesday night services. It’s such a blessing to have more than our family and five others in attendance. You just know the Lord is pleased when His house is full…even on weekdays when everyone is tired and would rather be home.
Thank You, Lord!
Psalm 34:1 “I will bless the LORD at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth.”

Hannah,
Praise God! I pray the Lord will continue to work in Denny's heart and that He will do a mighty work in the lives of other folks, as well. I know the Lord can really start to work in Denny's heart now that he's rid of the devil's music. Amen! And that's just wonderful that more folks are being faithful to God's House on Wednesday evenings. Thank you for sharing with us what the Lord is doing.
Rejoicing with you,
Naomi
