I woke up this morning and decided to make a big breakfast of blueberry-cranberry muffins, turkey ham, scrambled eggs, and hash browns. After taking some last minute family pictures Dad and Josiah drove Brother Maynard to the airport. It was sad to see him leave. I know the house will feel somewhat empty for a while, until we get used to life as usual. I didn’t cry like I thought I would when they left. God was good to give us this special time of fellowship. I need to be happy about it and not whine for more. Mom, Lydia, and I began getting the house back in order. Work is the best thing to get one’s mind off of sad thoughts. I praise the Lord we were so blessed to meet Brother Maynard. He has become a dear friend and is a wonderful brother in the Lord. God is SO good! =)

Church was a blessing! The song service went well. I love playing the piano; I love serving the Lord! What a privilege!!! Our people enjoyed Bro. Maynard’s Superman song. I did too! Dad had him preach for us, and it was GREAT! Brother Maynard preached about the bride of Christ, and he compared it to his marriage. He talked about his bride, Miss Chris, and how he’s going to see her. He was so excited. I know he misses his family. It’s been 3 weeks since he’s seen them. At one point during the message Brother Maynard told how a preacher once asked his son Russell to say one good thing about his father. Russell immediately replied, “Daddy loves Mommy.” Brother Maynard was talking about how every woman wants a husband who will be her spiritual head. She will gladly submit herself to him if he is right with God and helping her to grow spiritually. How true! The message was GREAT! I plan to listen to it again. It was a blessing that Brother Maynard also preached about some things Dad has been preaching about lately. It’s good for our people to know that we aren’t the only ones who believe this. We aren’t the only fanatics. Ha, ha! Brother Maynard preached for over an hour, but it didn’t seem like it. I love that rip-snortin’ preaching. There’s nothing like it in the world! =) Mom, Lydia, and I got dinner on the table soon after we got home. I had already made the spaghetti sauce yesterday, so it was pretty easy. We had a good talk over dinner, sharing some things that have been going on in the ministry. Brother Maynard took a nap while Dad and Joe were out bike riding with Mr. Kamps. We girls relaxed in the living room. Mom read us a nice testimony she found on a website. Dad and Joe got home and Brother Maynard came down, so Dad decided we should watch Bro. Keenan preach. That was some awesome preaching!!! Wow! Just as we started the preaching DVD, Bro. Maynard got a phone call from Russell saying the mother of one the boys at the home got saved during the meeting at their church. (The next day we found out the step dad got saved in the evening service!) That was neat! I fought tears as Bro. Maynard talked about going back to the special meetings they’re having. He seemed so enthusiastic and excited to get back. Suddenly I felt very…lonely. I know the grass isn’t greener on the other side of the fence. I need to be content. God is good to me. I will be content! We went to bed late again. I probably should have gone to bed much earlier, but I didn’t want to miss out on any of the fellowship. Ha, ha! Just like when I was a kid...I hated naptime, because it meant I was missing out on something important. As I tried to fall asleep and I thought about Brother Maynard leaving tomorrow, I allowed myself a few tears of sadness thinking about how lonely it will be when he goes home. I’m happy for him and his wife and boys though. Families weren’t meant to be split up for so long. It’s hard.

Mom and I stayed home from street preaching. We were both still feeling bad. Once again, we did a lot of talking today, covering a lot of different subjects. How wonderful it is to spend time with a fellow brother in the Lord! I can’t remember the last time we had such a nice visit with someone. We got dinner from the snack bar; we wanted Brother Maynard to taste some typical Dutch food. Well, we had just finished dinner, and Brother Maynard was showing us around his place on Google Earth, when the Peneux family called. Odia, a lady in our church, has a brother who’s gotten very messed up. She has been fasting and praying for him. Well, her brother got on the phone and told Dad, “I want to be born again.” Praise the Lord! So, Dad went to lead him to the Lord. I know Odia must be thrilled. There is nothing so wonderful as answered prayer! =)
