I woke up a little bit later than I did yesterday. I probably should’ve gone to bed earlier last night, but I didn’t want to miss out on any of the conversation. After showering, etc., I had breakfast. I decided to dress extra warm today. I didn’t intend to freeze at church like I did yesterday.
Justin and Jackson brought their cars down to the kitchen table for breakfast. They call them “tarz.” =D Too cute! I got their yogurts out and then cleaned them up when they were finished. Bro. Gary sat down on the couch and ready the Bible quietly to his boys, while Mrs. Lutrick ate in the kitchen. We had a nice chat and then hurried to finish getting ready for church.
Mrs. Lutrick thinks Keana is getting her first tooth, because she’s been sucking her hand like she’s going to eat it. I’m surprised her fingers aren’t raw. Poor baby. She’s a little darling. I think she wants to eat big people food. Whenever I’m eating and holding her at the same time, she follows my fork from my plate to my mouth and back again. It’s so funny to watch her.
We didn’t have as many people show up as yesterday, but it was still a blessing. After singing 2 hymns, Bro. & Mrs. Lutrick got up and sang. I went in back to sit with the boys. The song was great! Brother Lutrick preached the second part to his message yesterday about having faith. He told us some interesting stories about his street preaching experiences. Wow! We don’t have to deal with nearly the amount of stuff he does. There are some crazy people in this world, that’s for sure!
Brother Kamps preached the second session. He had a 20 point message about street preaching. It was a good and very long message. =D We ate lunch and then cleaned up.
The weather was nice, so we took the ferry across to Central Station. Justin loved the boat. It was cute to watch him so excited. As we got off the boat and walked to the station, Dad swooped Justin up onto his shoulders. Justin asked Dad, “You ready to do the preachin’?” Dad said he was, and Justin responded, “Well, I’m ready to do the listenin’.” Kids are so adorable. Both the Lutrick boys say “ya’ll,” even though they’ve only ever lived in Germany. That southern talk must be in the blood. =D
The guys preached great messages, and Dad was able to lead a woman to the Lord. Her life was a real mess, and she was searching for the truth of the gospel. Praise God! =) We sang “Nothing But the Blood” before leaving. A crowd of people gathered round to listen. That was a blessing. I love singing on the street.
Justin was getting tired toward the end there, as were we all. He asked me to hold him, so I did. He laid his head on my shoulder and for a while I thought he had fallen asleep, until he suddenly popped his head up and said, “We’re goin’ on the boat ’gain, aren’t we?” When I said yes, he smiled. I told him we had to go on the boat to get to the car, and the car would take us home to our house. Then Justin started talking about how they are staying at our house, because his house is far away in Germany. It’s so cute to listen to little kids talk on and on. I told him we were having chicken for dinner with potatoes. He told me he likes potatoes. Justin asked if he could carry my bag for me. I told him that he could when we got closer to the car. We were walking into the parking lot when he suddenly ran to me and asked, “Can I carry your bag?” Mom exclaimed that he was such a little gentleman. =D I let him carry it to the car, which was only about 10 steps away, but he was all happy.
Once at the house, the Lutricks got their van loaded, while we girls got dinner on the table. I played with the baby some, while uploading pictures onto the computer. Keana had just finished eating and was all smiles. Oh, she’s so adorable and cute! Have I said that before? =D As we ate dinner I made Mrs. Lutrick a proposition: I would make her a year’s supply of banana bread in exchange for her baby. Brother Lutrick laughed and teased that she might just take me up on it. Ha, ha! Mrs. Lutrick loves banana bread. The boys ate well. Apparently Justin really does like potatoes. =)
We talked for a little bit after dinner. I read the boys a couple stories, and then the Lutricks left. We waved them off. It was sorta sad to see them leave. Mrs. Lutrick had wanted to stay longer for the fellowship, but Brother Gary needed to do stuff around the church before Sunday. Anyway, the conference was a blessing. God has been good to us.
