This title reminds me of the song “My Favorite Things” from “The Sound of Music.” The Lord has been blessing us like crazy lately!
Yesterday evening we drove into Hilversum (where my dad was raised) to look at baby bunnies. They were SO cute! The first one that was given to me to hold was a buttery-brown color. At first he just sat there and let me stoke his soft fur. Then he began flopping around and started licking me and then biting me--a tickly feeling. =) At first I thought I might have food on my hand, although I couldn’t imagine how, and that was why he kept biting me. The little guy kept turning and turning as if he was looking for something. The lady said the babies needed to nurse; that made sense.
Then Lydia and I traded bunnies. That little guy kept turning in my hand as well, and then he began walking up my arm. I had to keep moving my hands in front of him so he wouldn’t run out of walking space and end up on the ground. Apparently he wasn’t too concerned about that. =)
The baby bunnies fit in the palm of my hand. They must have been about 3 or 3½ inches long and weighed practically nothing. They looked like furry mice. SO cute! I love them!
Pumpkin Pie and Peanut Butter--those are the names Lydia chose for them. I hope we picked a male and a female (apparently you can’t tell what gender they are at such a young age--only 2 weeks old), because Lydia wants to start a bunny business. We live right next to a school, so it shouldn’t be too hard to sell the babies. I just can’t wait until we can bring Pumpkin and Peanut home in 4 weeks, when they are weaned.

This morning 4 big brown packages arrived from the States. The Maynards in Florida sent us a whole bunch of treats--turkey pepperoni, Triscuits, Sugar Creek Gang books, pretty material for making dresses/skirts, and many other nice things. That was so fun and exciting! God sure has blessed us with loving and extremely generous friends! God is very good to us! =)
