I LOVE the U.S.A.!

Happy 4th of July!

GOD THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA!

Though my feet trod foreign soil, still my heart is firmly rooted in the U.S.A., the greatest nation on earth. Being a missionary’s daughter, and living in another country than that of my birth, I can truly say that my love for America has only increased. The saying “you don’t know what you have until you lose it” rings true. I’m more patriotic today than I ever was living in the States.

The United states is ridiculed by many for her people’s patriotic love and devotion. If these critics were citizens of the best country on earth I guess they would love her too, for she is the land of the free and the home of the brave!

America is badmouthed for her intervention in the affairs of other nations. When these countries less fortunate than ours are in need of protection, we aren’t afraid to send our boys over to fight injustices.

And then I hear the murmuring voices of those on home soil who complain about every little thing. Nothing meets with their approval. Quit your whining! I would love to buy these ungrateful wretches a one-way ticket to some third world, impoverished, famine-struck, war-stricken country. At least then they would have something justifiable to complain about.

I for one LOVE my country! I am proud to be an American! Praise God for His loving hand of protection and guidance over our nation. It is only because American was founded on Christian principles and has sought the Lord that by His grace we have become the great country we are today. We should not take this for granted.

The prosperity of our nation is dependant on how we treat God. Will we reject Him or allow Him to rule over us? Will we continue to murder innocent babies? Will we continue to approve the filthy lifestyles of the Sodomites who are abomination to God? Will we continue to scorn the old paths, so clearly marked by God’s Word? (Jeremiah 6:16 “Thus saith the LORD, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls. But they said, We will not walk therein.”) Let us remember that “righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people.” Proverbs 14:34

“If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.” 2 Chronicles 7:14

Happy 4th of July, and while you’re eating your burgers and apple pie and enjoying the festivities of the day, don’t forget to pray for your nation.
