A Sunday Afternoon Chat

July 20th! How can it be? Where does time go?

Church was great. Mischa preached at the Kamps’ church again this Sunday, so I played for the song service alone again. Next week our family will be filling in at the Kamps’ church. Then the Kamps will be coming home! Hurray! =)

Dad preached part 2 on Abigail and the characteristics of a godly woman. I listened to part 1 last night, since I wasn’t in the service last week (nursery duty). It was a good message. Dad pointed out some things I’ve never seen before.

After the preaching we had some snacks and hot drinks. I drank 3 cups of tea just to stay warm. Our summer weather has been unseasonably cooold! By the time church was over I was chilled through and through. The building we rent is like a cardboard box. When it’s warm outside it’s hot in the building; when it’s cold outside it’s freezing inside. Brrrrr! On top of being a very cold day, it’s also extremely damp and has been raining cats and dogs. We got home and I immediately threw on a jean skirt, sweatshirt (hoody), and thick socks. I’m finally thawing out! =)

Anyway, I got ahead of myself. After the preaching, getting something warm to drink, and talking a bit, we watched The Way of the Master, part 7, entitled “God’s Wonderful Plan.” There was one witnessing clip, well two actually, that were very touching. A Christian lady was witnessing to a girl, and she got saved!!! It was so neat to see and has placed a burning desire in my heart to do the same. Oh, God! Make me a soul winner! Speaking with those two girls on Thursday night was just a little taste of the thrilling joy of leading somebody to Jesus Christ!!! I want that!!! I got sidetracked with the girls’ many questions--and they were good questions (read about it here)--but I should’ve stayed with the plan! It’s difficult talking with two people together about the Lord as opposed to a one-on-one conversation, because one person distracts the other. But, I’m taking note, and with God’s help I’m learning.

Well, it’s 3:15 p.m. Mischa is coming over for dinner soon. Right now Dad is getting a Sunday nap, Mom is finishing dinner, Lydia is taking care of her bunnies, and Josiah is uploading today’s message onto our church’s website. I’m sure you can’t guess what I’m doing. =)
I expect we’ll eat soon and then talk and play some games later.

Hope you have a blessed SONday! =)
