Work and Play

BREAKING NEWS:
We found out today that one of our bunnies is a girl! We’re hoping to have babies to sell. We’ll see. What’s so neat is that when Cottontail died, Lydia prayed for two bunnies--one brown and the other a carmel color. She really wanted a boy and a girl so she could go into the bunny business. It seems that both Lydia’s requests have been answered. God is good!

FAMILY NIGHT:
We had planned to work in the garage around 4 p.m., but the weather got bad, so that didn’t go through. Mom made a delicious roast for dinner. Tasted great! When we were finished the guys picked up…blessed Friday! Ha!

A little later on we all piled into the van and went to the Kamps’ place to do some yard work. (For those of you who don’t know, the Kamps are our missionary friends who are in Canada right now, because Mrs. Kamps had to leave the country. They will be coming home at the end of this month. We’re excited!!!) We watered the house plants, which desperately needed attention.

I had fun trimming the wisteria; it was really overgrown. I got all my frustrations out with my hedge cutters. Ha, ha! I’ll surely pay for it tomorrow--sore arm muscles. Dad and Josiah raked up my mess, and the whole time Josiah, my annoying brother, kept teasing that it (the wisteria) looked bald, but it doesn’t.

WILD WOMAN!!!

The Kamps have a little pond in their backyard. We found two little frogs and a big frog too. They were cute…as frogs go! =D
Mom and Lydia found a huge spider, which Lydia screamed about. I didn’t see it because I was too busy giving the wisteria a haircut.

We got home, and Dad and Josiah went on a quick bike ride to pick up our rake at Kweku’s house. In the meantime I chatted with Naomi, my friend in Alaska. We had a really nice “talk.” I’m so glad for the special people God has placed in my life.

Everyone gathered in the living room, and we watched a short movie together. I played the piano, while Dad and Josiah played their computer racing game. It’s so amusing to watch their intent faces. We laugh at them. Ha! Mom, Lydia, and I played several games of “Dutch Blitz.” The Maynards sent it to us. I really like that game! I’m getting all practiced up!!! Beware! =D

We went to bed at around midnight. Family night usually goes late, but not that late. We had fun! All families should set aside a time when they do something with each other--whether work or play or just sitting around and talking. This is how families stay together!!!
