What is Wrong With America???

My first thought upon waking up this morning was who is the president of the United States? I did my devotions and then braced myself as I checked Fox News. I was hoping with all my heart that McCain had won, but I guess deep inside I knew it was pretty much impossible with Obama’s overwhelming popularity, unless God did something spectacular. Still, I was shocked when I saw that Obama really won the election. It was a landslide. My first thought was this: What is wrong with America???

What is wrong with America??? How can America be so foolish? How can a nation founded by godly men be turned over to an inexperienced man who disregards the founding principles of the very country he seeks to lead and blasphemes the name of the One our forefathers sought to honor? Obama refuses to show respect to the American flag and the American Anthem. America just elected a man who approves not only of abortion, but infanticide! A man who approves of MURDER!!! America has elected a man who has no plans of supporting Israel and wants to keep giving our money to the Arabs so they can build nuclear weapons to destroy us. I recently saw an advertisement with Obama saying something about not compromising Israel’s security. Of course he won’t compromise; if/when Russia and all the rest of the Arab nations rise up to attack Israel, he’s going to hand them over. He won’t care!!! America is the one country that has protected Israel, God’s chosen people. This may be one of the reasons why God has withheld the judgment that America deserves for her great wickedness…for the blood of innocent babies and the immorality and the filth polluting our land. Obama’s theme is change. “Change has come to America.” Yeah, you bet it has! And it’s the kind of change that is going to terrify people and ruin our country. Dear God!!! What is wrong with America??? We have gone so far as to shun the very One who made our country great. We have raised our fists to the sky and turned our backs on the same God we ask to bless our nation.

“Thus saith the LORD, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls. But they said, We will not walk therein.” (Jeremiah 6:16) By electing so wicked a man as Barack Hussein Obama, this is America’s silent message: “We will not walk therein.” May God have mercy upon us!

“When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn.” (Proverbs 29:2) I grasped a new understanding of this verse today. My heart is mourning for our nation. Dad tried to comfort and encourage us this morning as we discussed these things. He is right. God is still on the throne and His kingdom ruleth over all! By the alarming outcome of this election we see one more sign of the times we live in. In the last days evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived. (2Timothy 3:13) The stage is set for Christ’s second coming. We see everything is falling into place. Russia is restless. The only nation willing to defend Israel is in the hands of a Muslim-sympathizing U.S. president. I can’t believe the days I am living in. Could it be that Jesus Christ will return in my lifetime?! It sure looks like a possibility! Would to God it would be so!

Even though Republicans and Conservatives are feeling down today, we need to remember Romans 8:28. “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.” Nothing can happen that is out of God’s control. “The mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he [the Holy Sprit] who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way.” (2 Thessalonians 2:7) As long as Christians--those filled with the Holy Sprit--are on this earth, evil can only go so far before God intervenes. So don’t be down; things are looking up!!! We serve a GREAT God!!! He is able!
